Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySTEVE ZELINSKI Our family sadly announces the passing of our beloved husband, father and grandfather on September 10, 2005 at the age of 85. Steve was predeceased by his parents, Peter and Anne Zelinski; brothers, John, Joseph, William and Anton Zelinski; and sister Kay Borkowsky. He is survived by his wife Mary of 61 years; son Steven (Sharon); daughter Teresa; grandchildren, Shawn, Shannon (Scotty) and Samantha (Alex). He is also survived by sisters, Angeline Johnson and Mary King, both of Santa Anna, CA; and brother Michael (Lily) of Kamsack, SK. Steve was born on March 13, 1920 in Cote, SK. He received his schooling in Cote and farmed with his father and brothers until coming to Winnipeg as a young man. He worked as a butcher at East-West Packers for nearly 40 years, retiring in 1985. During his retirement Steve was very active, enjoying gardening, berry picking, home improvement projects and especially fishing (summer and winter) with his buddies, Wasyl, Adam and Stanley. Steve was an active member of Holy Ghost Ukrainian Catholic Church for 45 years, serving on all of the various committees. Over the past 15 years he attended St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church, 737 Bannerman Ave. and this is where a memorial service will be held on Friday, September 16, at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow in Brookside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations in Steve's memory may be made to the St. Nicholas Church Restoration and Maintenance Fund or to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
