MILKA KOBAK February 10, 1940 - September 12, 2005 It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our dear mother and grandmother Milka Kobak. With family at her side she passed away at the Selkirk General Hospital on September 12, 2005. Milka was predeceased by her mother Magda Kambic on August 18, 2004. She was born in Yugoslavia on February 10, 1940 and immigrated to Hamilton, ON in 1956. To serve where the need was great, the family moved to Dominion City, MB in 1970. Then from there the family moved to Selkirk. Mommy was known to all for her hospitality and exceptional cooking. The exceptional love and sacrifice she made for her children and grandchildren will be greatly missed. She leaves to mourn her loss, her son John Kobak of Selkirk and grandsons, John James (Desiree) of Winnipeg and Adrian Kobak of Selkirk; daughter Ann Derbowka (Ken) and grandsons, Wesley and Brett of Brandon; daughter Mary Clarke (Dean) and grandson Jeremy of Selkirk; brother Steve Kambic (Lorraine) of Sutton, ON and nephew Aaron (Michelle) Kambic also of Sutton. As one of Jehovah's Witnesses Milka centred her life around serving her Creator, Jehovah God. Her belief in the resurrection hope as spoken of in John 5:28, 29, that of seeing again, our loved ones who have fallen asleep in death provided her great comfort and she openly shared this promised hope with others. She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her. Service to be held Friday, September 16 at 7:00 p.m. in the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses at Lot 12 Hawthorne Place, Selkirk, MB. Memorial service to be conducted by Mr. Richard Downing. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
