RUDY FRIESEN 1929 - 2005 Peacefully, on Thursday, September 15, 2005 at Concordia Hospital, Rudolph (Rudy) Friesen, beloved husband of the late Marion (Young) Friesen, passed away at the age of 76. Rudy is survived by his son Keith and partner Tammie. Surviving siblings are Olive Klassen of Calgary, David Friesen (Sylvia) of Winnipeg, Susan Schulz (Rudy) of Winnipeg, Edith Robertson (Dave) of Kelowna, BC and Ruth Shier (Vern) of Edmonton, AB. Also surviving are brothers-in-law, William Young (Irene), Leonard Young (Irma) and Harold Young (Inez), sisters-in-law, Dorothy Shady, Helen Gluting, Edna Klann (Harold), Leona Kramble (Chuck) and Loretta Sklepowich. Besides his wife Marion (2002), Rudy was predeceased by his parents, David N. (1989) and Susanna (Janzen) Friesen (2003). Also predeceasing him were sisters-in-law, Carolyn Miller and Irene Young, brothers-in-law, Joe Gluting, Mike Shady, Charlie Miller, Herb Klassen and Walter Sklepowich. Rudy was born in Ste. Elizabeth, MB on January 1, 1929. He was the oldest son of David N. Friesen and Susanna Friesen. After completing school he worked at a variety of jobs as a farm hand, then as a gold miner at Beardmore, ON. His long time career was in the rental business. Rudy was a member of the Manitoba Rental Association and American Rental Association. Beginning in the mid 1980's, he owned and operated Rite Rentals on Plessis Road in Transcona. Rudy retired in 2002. Rudy was a faithful Winnipeg Jets hockey fan and season ticket holder and greatly enjoyed informal gatherings with his business friends and family connections. Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 19, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at Green Acres Funeral Home, Hwy 1 E at Navin Road. Viewing will take place one half hour before the service.
