Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBARRY KENDALL SALLEE 1929 - 2005 On Wednesday, September 14, 2005 at his residence, Barry Kendall Sallee answered the last call. He leaves behind a broken hearted family who rejoice in having shared a life well lived with this tender man. His beloved wife of 46 years Vera; daughter Louise (Jim); sons, Fred (Debbie), Danny (Irene), Bruce (Chris); grandchildren, Michael, Allen (Crystel) Carina, Nicholas, Leanne; great-grandson Colin; sister Linda and extended family. Barry was predeceased by his parents Nicolas and Katherine, his sister Ruth and infant grandson Patrick. Dad was born in Chicago, Illinois and spent his early years in Winnipeg and Edmonton. He joined the Winnipeg Fire Department in 1953. His career spanned 36 and a half years until retirement and he rose to the Rank of District Chief. He met mom in 1958 and took her and her two children into his heart. Two more children followed together, but dad was always clear we were all his children. Dad's greatest joys in his life were his wife and his beloved Back 40 Garden . He passed as he lived, quietly and peacefully. Funeral service remembering Barry's life will be held on Monday, September 19 at 2:00 p.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Home with interment to follow. Chaplain Mark Young, Winnipeg Fire Department officiating. Pallbearers will be members of the City of Winnipeg Fire Department Honour Guard. Flowers are gratefully declined. The family welcomes donations to the Winnipeg Firefighter's Burn Unit in Barry's memory.
