Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBARBARA ALICE VANDAL (nee BURNS) October 10, 1935 - September 15, 2005 It is with great sadness we announce the death of our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother Barbara Vandal on September 15, 2005 at the Bethesda Hospital in Steinbach at the age of 69 years old. Barbara is survived by her three children, Debbie (Len) Broesky, LaBroquerie, MB; Ted (Lynne) Vandal, Marchand, MB; Joe (Cheryl) Vandal, Winnipeg; seven grandchildren, Steven and Ryan Broesky, Melissa, Scott (Ashley) Vandal, Samantha (Jerrold), Megan and Katie Vandal; one great-grandson McKenzie Vandal. She also leaves to mourn her passing seven sisters, Ruth (Allan) Burr, Goodlands, MB; Grace (Ralph) Wastle, Winnipeg; Ruby McDonald, Giroux, MB; Margaret (Aime) Boivin, Giroux; Mary-Lou Adams, Steinbach; Jean (Ed) Boivin, Giroux; Diana (Charles) Cyr, Giroux; two brothers, George (Francis) Burns, Thunder Bay, ON; Stan (Carm) Burns, Winnipeg; sister-in-law and best friend Lucy Burns, Ste. Genevieve, MB; sisters-in-law, Bernadette Boivin, Giroux, MB and Dolly Ronellenfitch, Irwin, AB. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and countless friends. Barbara was predeceased by her husband of 42 years, Lou Vandal (1999), brothers, David Burns (1998), Leslie Burns (2000) and her parents, Alexander Burns (1989) and Mary Burns (1979). Funeral services will be held at the Steinbach Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 21 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Norman Broesky officiating. The family would like to thank Dr. David Horne for his compassionate care. Also, a heartfelt thanks for the extraordinary and compassionate care shown to our mother and ourselves by the nursing staff on the second floor of the Bethesda Hospital, especially Cheryl and Candace.
