MARY NEBOZENKO It is with great sadness the family announces the peaceful passing of Mary Nebozenko on Saturday, September 17, 2005 at Concordia Place Care Centre, Winnipeg at the age of 98 years. Mary was predeceased by her husband Michael in 1988 and her two children, Stephen in 1980 and Irene in 1994. Mary was born on February 24, 1907 in Ingolf, ON. when she was a young girl, the family moved to Narol, MB. Mary and Michael Nebozenko were married on March 7, 1926 and they shared 62 loving years. They operated a successful market gardening business on the Nebozenko family homestead. Mary continued to plant vegetables every spring until she was in her late 80s. The farm was always a happy place for family to celebrate birthdays and holidays and to 'drop in' after trips to the lake or on a Sunday drive. Mary was a former member of the Narol Golden Age Club and Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church in Gonor, MB. Mary was also a talented seamstress and loved needlepoint. Her many works of art, along with our memories of the farm will be cherished for years to come. Mary was a true Manitoba pioneer and the hardships she endured throughout her life helped to forge her strong-willed and determined character. In contrast, Mary was a loving, caring and generous wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Mary leaves to mourn her passing her daughter-in-law Ollie Nebozenko; granddaughters, Tannis (Chuck) Haarsma and Barbara (Derek) Longfield; great-grandchildren, Carly and Matthew Haarsma, Michael, Erin and Stephen Longfield, as well as many relatives and friends. Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 20 at Korban Funeral Chapel, 907 Main St. with Fr. Michael Krochak officiating. Interment will follow in Holy Family Cemetery. The family would like to thank the staff at Concordia Place for their professional care and comfort of Granny for the past six years. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Children's Hospital Foundation in Mary's memory. VICHNAYA PAMYAT KORBAN FUNERAL HOME 956-2193
