STEVE DUBECK February 28, 1929 - September 19, 2005 It is with extreme sadness we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Steve Dubeck, on September 19, 2005 at the age of 76 years. Steve leaves to mourn his passing his loving wife of 50 years, Louise (nee Cottes); children, Debbie (Dennis Wisheranko), Doug (Jody, nee Hannesson), Sandy Dubeck-Manulak (Bruce McIntyre) and Bruce (Michelle Wiebe). Steve will be greatly missed by his nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his three brothers, Mike, John, Stan and his sister Elsie, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Steve was predeceased by his parents, Max Dubeck and Anne Dubeck and by brother Leo and sister Nellie. Steve was born in Hampton, SK, raised in Gilbert Plains, MB and resided in Transcona for most of his adult life, raising a family and working as a self-employed barber at Kern Park Shopping Centre and StyleRite Barbers. Upon retirement, Steve and Louise enjoyed wintering in Arizona and spending summers at their cottage in Poplar Bay, Lac du Bonnet. Recent health problems did not keep Steve from the lake and he spent his last days happy at the cottage, his home away from home. A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 23 at 10:00 a.m. at the Transcona Funeral Chapel, 1800 Day St. with Fr. Mark Gnutel officiating. Interment to follow at Transcona Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make a donation in Steve's honour, to the Canadian Diabetes Association or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba. Rest in peace. We love you. Transcona Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements.

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • My sympathy is with you in the loss of your husband, father and grandfather, Steve. Although I did not really know Steve, he did know my late husband, Ross and Ross' late parents, Sophie and Bill Solomon. Again, I am sorry about your loss. It is not easy. - Posted by: Zinnia Solomon (Acquaintance) on: Sep 23, 2005
