Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOHN RIEDIGER John Riediger, 85 years of age, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving wife and family, on September 19, 2005. John was born in Arkadak, Russia on June 27, 1920. He came to Canada in 1923 with his parents and seven siblings. They arrived at Herbert SK, moved to Hanley, SK and in 1935 made Winnipeg their home. He was baptized on May 24, 1942 in the First Mennonite Church of Winnipeg. John worked in the family business, Riediger's Market, for many years prior to moving to Vancouver, BC with his family in 1970. He was a member of the Mountainview Mennonite Church and, more recently, of the Olivet Mennonite Church in Abbotsford. John had a strong faith in a loving God and daily thanked Him for the blessings of family and friends. His gracious and generous spirit made him beloved by all. His wife Kay and five daughters, Linda Snow, Evelyn Riediger, Ruth Jolliffe (Gary), Joy McKee (Colin) and Elizabeth Nickel (Ken), and nine granddaughters praise God for John's love and faithfulness to them throughout the years. The family thanks Dr. Chow and the nursing staff at the Fraser Valley Palliative Care for their compassionate and professional care of their dear husband and father. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, September 23, 2005 at 1:00 p.m., at the Emmanuel Mennonite Church, 3471 Clearbrook Rd., Abbotsford, BC, and burial at MacLure Road Cemetery, reception to follow at the Church.
