KATARZYNA BOCHNIARZ Peacefully on Tuesday, September 20, 2005, with her family at her side, our beloved mother and grandmother passed away at the Health Sciences Centre at the age of 88 years. Katarzyna will be greatly missed by her daughters, Joan and Irene; her son-in-law Bob; and her grandchildren, Michael and Kathleen. Also, left to mourn her passing are her extended family, good neighbours and many friends, as well as relatives in Poland. She was predeceased by her husband Jan, in 1996; and her parents, Wojek and Agnieska Kwasniewicz. Katarzyna was born on March 9, 1917 in Czukiew, Krakow, Poland. Affectionately known as Baba by all, our mom always took care of her family first, herself second. She had strong work ethics and worked for the City of Winnipeg until retiring at the age of 77 years. In her retirement years, Mom enjoyed working in her garden and took great pleasure in making afghans for her friends. Baba's greatest joy, were her two grandchildren. She was never more proud of them than when she was able to attend their university graduations and watched as they embarked on their chosen careers. The family wishes to express their sincere thanks to the staff on GA4 at the Health Sciences Centre for their loving care and support. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, September 24 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Ghost Church, 341 Selkirk Ave., Winnipeg. For those who wish to pay their respects, viewing will take place one half hour prior to the mass. Interment will follow at Holy Ghost Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Katarzyna's memory may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9. You were always there when we needed you, No task too great or small, With a loving heart and a willing hand For us, you did them all. Thanks for the years you gave us, And for the precious times we shared, We only pray that when you left us, You knew how much we cared. God saw you getting tired, He put His arms around you And said Come unto Me. To live in hearts we leave behind Is not to die. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
