ARTUR WEKWERT It is with regret that I must inform you of the passing of my loving husband Art, on September 17, 2005 at the Kelowna General Hospital. Art was born June 7, 1936 in Kuty Salesie, Poland and came to Canada in 1952, settling in Winnipeg, MB until 1966. He then moved to the Surrey/Langley area of BC until 1997 when Art retired to Salmon Arm. Art was predeceased by his sister Herta Schollmaier. He leaves to mourn his loving wife Mary-Jo Wekwert; his sisters and families, Erna Mueller, Gunda (Kurt) Hellmann, and Frieda Rolle; his children Monica (Ira), Carol, Tracy (Scott), Gordon (Shannon), Kim (Paul), Lori (Barry); nine grandchildren Kelsey, Michael, Jason, Catherine, Conrad, Thomas, Gavin, Jakob and Bella; as well as many nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and pals. Visitation will be held on Monday, September 26, 2005, 9:30 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. from the chapel of Fischer's Funeral Services, 4060 1st Ave. SW, Salmon Arm. Funeral service will follow at 1:30 at the First United Church, 20 - 4th St. SE, Salmon Arm with Rev. Will Sparks officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Ida Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to a tea at 4:30 p.m. at the family residence. In lieu of flowers, Art's family is donating to the ICU/SCCU of Kelowna General Hospital, but donations can be made to the Cancer Society for Gastric Cancer Research.
