Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryALLAN GLEN ZELMER 1934 - 2005 Peacefully, on September 20, 2005 with his family at his side, Allan Zelmer at the age of 71 years, passed away. Allan leaves to mourn, his wife of 37 years, Laurine, along with the family they raised together, Janell, Jennine (Craig), and Cordell (Melanie). Allan also leaves to mourn, his daughter Debra Friesen (Ray), along with his grandchildren Donovan, Shantel, Chelsea, Tyson, Kayleigh and Connor. In addition, he leaves his brother Ralph Zelmer (Muriel), his sister Shirley DeGagne and numerous nieces and nephews. Allan was born on August 20, 1934 in Russell, Manitoba. He was one of three children born to Alexander and Martha (nee Bach) Zelmer. He was predeceased by his parents and his brother-in-law Paul DeGagne. Allan was employed with CNR for 41 years as a carman/welder before retiring in 1995. Allan had been a dedicated and baptized servant of Jehovah since 1958. His care and concern for other people were most evident when he visited the elderly, the depressed or anyone in need. He auxiliary-pioneered on and off for several years until his health prevented him from having a greater share in what he knew was the most important work he could do, telling others about the Bible's promise for a better future found at Isaiah 25:8, ...he will actually swallow up death forever and the Sovereign Lord Jehovah will certainly wipe the tears from all faces. He enjoyed sharing his hope and faith with all he met. Allan always maintained his deep trust in God's promise of a resurrection hope found at John 5:28, 29. On behalf of the family, we wish to thank Dr. C. Tapp and the doctors and staff of the Seven Oaks General Hospital, 5th floor - Unit 6 for their wonderful care and compassion. We also wish to thank the more than 100 of our extended Christian family who visited Allan while he was in the hospital. A special thanks to all who were so supportive of the family at this difficult time. Memorial Service to he held on Monday, September 26, 2005 at 7:30 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall Centre, 227 Lakewood Blvd., Winnipeg, Manitoba, Don Grenkow officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Allan's name to Watch Tower, Box 4100, Halton Hills (Georgetown), Ontario L7G. 4Y4. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044

I met Al through his stepson, Cordell when he lived on Grenkow's farm. I remember him working hard on a large garden beside his home, he also regularly delivered homemade sausage at my parents home in the 1970s and worked full time as a CN welder and worked as an elder in my Congregation. I recall him being hardworking and industrious in providing for his family. Based on Isaiah 65: 21,22 - I look forward to seeing Al building his own home and planting again in Jehovah’s kingdom.
