FLORENCE LUCILLA ROEHLE (KELLY)
Date of Passing: Sep 20, 2005
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryFLORENCE LUCILLA ROEHLE (nee KELLY) Our mother passed away after a brief illness on September 20, 2005. This was a special date as she was born and married on this date. She resided with her daughter Rhoda and family in Ottawa, Ontario during her latter years. Mom was born in Estevan, Saskatchewan and raised in Hardy, Saskatchewan. She was predeceased by her parents Arthur and Selena, her brothers Archie and Arthur and her sister Eva Graham. Mom taught school and worked in the family store. Mom married our dad, Samuel Roehle, in 1937, and moved to a farm on the Blackdale Rd. Mom and Dad moved to Winnipeg in 1972, where they enjoyed retirement until Dad's passing in 1988. Grandma Roehle remained remarkably able, independent and competent - a modest, gracious, spiritual, contented and loving soul, who will be sadly missed by family and friends. Mom was predeceased by her eldest daughter, Joan, in 1993. She will be lovingly remembered by her sons, Fred of Portage La Prairie, Manitoba, Bob (Judy) of St. Norbert, Manitoba, and Howard (Karen) of Portage La Prairie, Manitoba, and her daughter Rhoda (Bill) Whitehead of Ottawa, Ontario. Grandma kept a very special place in her heart for her nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. A funeral service was held on September 24 in Ottawa. A second funeral service will be held at Thomson Funeral Home, 669 Broadway on Saturday on October 1 at 10:00 a.m. Friends may call there on Friday, September 30 between 7:00 and 9:00 p.m. Interment to follow at Glen Eden Cemetery. Dear Family, I am so sorry to hear about "Grandma Roehle" as I have always known her to be that way ever since we had lived on the farm. I have many fond memories of Grandma and Grandpa Roehle and will keep them close to my heart. I send my deepest sympathies from both myself and my mother as we both know how hard it is to lose a loved once who leaves so many memories behind. Just remember she has gone to be by her beloved husbands side and is resting comfortably while she is still watching over you. Colleen - Posted by: Colleen Dola (Friend) on: Sep 25, 2005
