Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryRUBY HOFFMAN October 31, 1918 - September 17, 2005 It is with deep sadness, but with wonderful memories, we announce the passing of Ruby Hoffman on Saturday, September 17, 2005. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Allan; her son David (Anne) and daughter Lynne (Bruce). She is lovingly remembered by her grandchildren, Aviva, Efrem and Ari. She was predeceased by her parents, Hanna and Jacob Warkov and her sisters, Edith Migie (Major) and Mae Schacter (Irv). Ruby was a woman with varied interests. In her early years she was actively involved in the Jewish community, socially and culturally. She possessed a keen intellect and Sharp mind until the very end, keeping abreast of current events locally and internationally. She was an avid observer of human nature, with an intuitive mind, passionately absorbed in human affairs. She had a voracious appetite for reading and was a member of book clubs. She was talented athletically, competitive both in tennis and badminton. To the delight of her family she was an exceptionally inventive cook. Triple B was her signature - biographies, badminton and banana cake. Most importantly, Ruby will be remembered as a devoted wife and loving mother and grandmother, concerned about the well being of her entire family. The family is deeply grateful to our friend Lily for her unwavering devotion. Funeral services were held graveside at the Shaarey Zedek Cemetery on Monday, September 19. Pallbearers were George Meyers, Irwin Fine, Brian Migie, Bernie Migie, Efrem Hoffman and Michael Migie.
