Mom was born at Grandview, MB on November 4, 1924, daughter of William and Eleanor Butterfield (nee Tigg). She lived a full and active life. After leaving the family farm she was proud to serve her country as a private in the Armed Forces as an ambulance driver. She entered into hairdressing after this term and met and married dad in July of 1949. For a number of years she was employed with Eaton's in the toy and paint departments and also worked at the Paint Place in Winnipeg. A year following dad's passing she decided to move back to Grandview, where they had originally planned to retire to. For the past 14 years she had shared a constant companionship with Glen Bud Winfield. Together, they enjoyed sharing themselves with both families, as well as camping, fishing, travelling and snowmobiling with family and friends, together they enjoyed gardening and she always enjoyed the drives they would take in the countryside. Mom also loved to crochet and spent many hours making afghans and dish cloths that she would give to family members and friends. She was a member of the Grandview Royal Canadian Legion and the Grandview United Church. For the past five months she had been in the tender, loving care of the doctors and staff at the Grandview District Hospital with Bud always at her bedside. A graveside service was held on Saturday, September 24, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. from the Grandview Memorial Gardens. Rev. Steve Wilson officiated.
