MABEL ZWARON October 24, 1915 - September 21, 2005 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, Mabel Zwaron. She was predeceased by her husband Stephen in June 1989. She is survived by her children, Judith, Ralph, Marilyn and Donna; six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, nieces and nephew as well as her sister and brother-in-law Emeline and James Cordepal. Our mother worked at Manitoba Hardware and Furniture on Selkirk Avenue prior to her marriage. When her youngest child entered school she became employed at Ashdown and Big Four retail stores on Main Street in Winnipeg. Because of her declining health, she sold her house on Roosevelt Place in East Kildonan in July 2002 and moved to assisted living at Donwood Manor. In November, 2004 she moved to Misericordia Health Centre (Interim Care) and in July 2005 she moved to Misericordia Place Personal Care Home 2nd Floor. Many thanks to staff in all three facilities for their excellent care of our mother. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, September 28, 2005 at 7:00 p.m. at Misericordia Place Personal Care Home, 44 Furby St., (Parkade on Sherbrook Street). In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Mabel to the Humane Society, 5 Kent St., Winnipeg, MB R2L 9Z9. THOMSON FUNERAL HOME 669 Broadway 783-7211

Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • My sincere sympathy in the passing of your mother. I am Hazel Guichon's daughter in Edmonton. I never met Mabel but heard from my daughter and family what a wonderful lady she was. Mom really enjoyed sharing a room with her in Concordia Hospital and having her company in Misericordia. I remember a Marilyn Zwaron when I lived in Winnipeg but cannot recall from where I know her from. I attended St. James Collegiate, Angus Business College and worked at CPR. I would appreciate if Marilyn remembers me if she would e-mail me at the above address and let me know. - Posted by: Penny Ashuk (Acquaintance) on: Oct 24, 2005

  • We were saddened to see that Mabel had passed away. Mabel shared a room with Mom, Hazel Guichon at Concordia Hospital. They were then together at Misericordia Interim Care. Mabel was a great lady and we all enjoyed her company. Mom passed away August 12, 2005. - Posted by: Nancy Ward (Acquaintance) on: Oct 19, 2005
