Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGLADYS MARY LAWRIE (nee FULTHORPE) 1925 - 2005 Peacefully on September 23, 2005 at the Fort Garry Care Centre, Gladys left us after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's disease. Gladys leaves to mourn her loving and devoted husband George of 60 years. She is also survived by children, Debbie (Paul), Ken (Heather) and Cathy (Gerry), eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, along with numerous relatives, nieces and nephews. Gladys was predeceased by her father Joseph Fulthorpe, mother Gertrude Fulthorpe, stepmother Marg Fulthorpe, brothers, Bob and Dave and first-born son David Alan Lawrie (Sue). Gladys had many dear friends who were involved with her in Cocoa Club nights, bridge and school-girl luncheons. Gladys' passion for years was spending several hours everyday in her garden at home as well as at the summer cottage at Grand Beach. Special thanks to the staff at Fort Garry Care Centre for their devoted and unconditional care giving. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, September 27, 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Road United Church, 613 St. Mary's Rd. Service will be officiated by Rev. Russell Wardell and cousin Rev. Alan Cameron from Montreal. In lieu of flowers donations can made to the Alzheimer's society of Canada. A private family burial will take place at a later date.
