Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARY GUBERNACHUK August 20, 1948 - September 24, 2005 With deep sadness we announce the passing of Mary Gubernachuk after her long and courageous battle with cancer. Left to mourn are her sons, Paul (Bonnie) and Danny and their father Eugene; her brother Richard (Francis) and sisters, Jean (Dick) and Helen (Stan); nephews, Kenny, Darren, David and Ryan as well as numerous and special friends from her church and community. Mary was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Wanda Dudzinski. Mary grew up in Winnipeg and after high school attended St. Pauls College at the University of Manitoba, followed by a teaching degree at the Faculty of Education. She taught elementary school at Angus McKay in East Kildonan until the birth of her first son. Mary was actively involved as a Christian and in her church throughout her adult life. She drew strength and solace from her faith, especially during her most difficult times. Mary will always be remembered as a very kind, gentle and generous person who never spoke ill of anyone. She always focused on the positive in people, and faced her many health problems with courage and dignity. Mary will be deeply missed as a mother, wife and friend. Rest in peace in the arms of Jesus. Special thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff at the Riverview Palliative Care ward and the Health Sciences Centre for their care over many years.
