KEITH WILLSON VOGAN (June 26, 1930 - September 23, 2005) Willson died peacefully Friday morning, September 23, 2005 with his family at his side at Victoria General Hospital. Willson will be greatly missed. Predeceased by his youngest son John, Willson is survived by his wife Gertrude; his son Eric (Jill); his daughter Caroline; grandchildren, of whom he was so proud, Jane and John Vogan and Leanne and Alec Woolston; and sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Dorothy Anne and Doug Cole and family of Penticton, BC, who were dear friends. Willson was born in Winnipeg and attended Queenston, Robert H. Smith and Kelvin High Schools. He graduated with a B.A. from University of Manitoba. Willson married Gertrude More in 1951 and together they raised their family in Fort Garry. Willson, or Keith as he was known in business, enjoyed a rewarding and varied career in finance and real estate development. He was a family man, a sportsman, a craftsman and a traveller. Willson greatly enjoyed many LOWISA voyages with hand-picked crew on Sweet Sue. He enjoyed hunting, fishing at the Lake George Fishing Club, golf at the Niakawa Country Club. The Gull Lake family cottage was a handyman's haven for Willson. Well known as a wood-worker and furniture-maker, many family and friends proudly show pieces from the Canadian Antique Mirror Co. Ltd. Travelling was a constant theme in his life. Camping with his family progressed to European and Asian holidays with Gert and special trips with his grandchildren to Europe and New York. Always in search of new frontiers, Willson joined his grandchildren at University. His desire to be a Renaissance man was the stimulus to writing, As Far as I am Concerned , his unauthorized autobiography. The Vogan family thanks the staff of the Emergency Ward, Observation Ward and the 4th floor of Victoria Hospital for their caring. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 27 at 2:00 p.m. in the Fort Garry United Church on Point Road and Lyon Street. If friends so wish, donations in lieu of flowers can be made to Age and Opportunity Inc. or the Winnipeg Humane Society. a la bim The Coutu family in care of arrangements: E.J. COUTU CO.
