Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARGARET (MARGUERITE) WEIR Peacefully, on Sunday, September 25, 2005, Margaret Weir passed away at the Grace General Hospital after a short illness. She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law Mr. and Mrs. Arthur McVey; eldest daughter Gloria Wasacase; son Kirk Weir (Violet); daughter-in law Rooney Weir; sons-in-law, Lauder Smith and Kirk Liznick; 14 grandchildren; and seven great- grandchildren. Margaret was predeceased by her husband John (1979); her son Hugh John (Jack) Weir (2002); her daughters, Catherine Liznick (2004) and Shelly Smith (2004); and sister Jean Toma (1990). Margaret was born in Winnipeg on November 21, 1915 to Hugh and Annie Montgomery. She married John Charles Weir in 1934 and they had five children. Margaret enjoyed singing and was a member of the St. John's Presbyterian Church Choir and the Peter Logan's Scottish Choir, as well as, participating for several years in the Winnipeg Festival. She was one of the founding members of the Women's Auxiliary of the Army and Navy Provincial Command and an active member of the Rockwood Seniors. Margaret had spent her life in the City of Winnipeg and developed many friends and acquaintances over the years. She will be sadly missed by many. A celebration of Margaret's life was held in Westwood Presbyterian Church, 197 Browning Blvd. on Wednesday, September 28, at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Ian Shaw officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations in Margaret's memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society of Manitoba, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 2B7 or to the Guillain-Barre Syndrome Foundation of Manitoba, 774 Lansdowne Ave., Winnipeg, MB R2X 1R9. To Gloria and Kirk It's been a very sorrowful few years for you-may God give you much Strength to get you through this, too. Your Mother lived a very full life, and touched many lives.
