Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARTHA ELIZABETH JACKSON 1907 - 2005 Martha Jackson passed away peacefully on September 27, 2005 at Poseidon Care Centre. Aunt Martha was born March 11, 1907 at Russell, MB. She was the youngest of seven children born to James and Annie Jackson who emigrated to Canada from Ireland in 1899 and bought a farm at Inglis, MB that year. The farm continues to be in the Jackson family. Martha received her schooling in Russell and assisted in her parents' home until she joined the R.C.A.F. in 1942. Following her war service, she settled in Winnipeg and joined the Hudson's Bay Company where she was employed until her retirement in 1972. Martha was a longtime member of Knox United Church and the U.C.W. In earlier years, she enjoyed curling and later, lawn bowling, bridge, canasta and cribbage. Aunt Martha was predeceased by her parents; three brothers and three sisters. She leaves a host of nieces and nephews and their families to cherish her memory. Since May, 1996, Martha has resided at Poseidon Care Centre and the family is appreciative of the care and compassion accorded to her during her residency on Floor Five. Also, very special thanks to Marie Claw, a caring friend and frequent companion to Martha. Cremation has taken place and a private family interment will be held in the near future. In lieu of floral tributes, contributions to a favourite charity would be appropriate.
