JULIANNA DRAFI Peacefully in her sleep, at the Holy Family Nursing Home, on September 26, 2005, just days short of her 80th birthday. Julianna was very much loved and will be forever remembered by her sons, Tibor (Norah), John (Judy); and daughter Vi. She will be forever in the hearts and memories of her grandchildren, Tamara, Darla (Brad), Carly (Oisin), and Michelle; and missed by her great-grandchildren, Madeleine and Kaden; and her extended family in Austria, Hungary and Germany. She was predeceased by her children's devoted father Janos (John) in 1981, her beloved Joe Drafi, and her friend and partner in later life, John Warywoda. Julianna was born in Etyek, Hungary in 1925 and was the second oldest in a family of thirteen. She and her husband and children bravely immigrated to Canada during the Hungarian Revolution in 1956 and quickly settled in Winnipeg. Julianna was an extremely proud and hardworking woman, who took great pride in her home and gardens. She loved telling stories in her special way and was a private person who was unafraid to tackle any endeavour, no matter how difficult. She taught her children to never say I can't do that and to try their best at whatever they did. Much thanks and appreciation are extended to the nursing staff on the 2nd Floor at the Holy Family Nursing Home, especially to Shirley. We know you gave Mom your best care. Funeral service will be held on Friday, September 30 at 1:00 p.m. at the Transcona Funeral Chapel, 1800 Day St. with Fr. Richard Machura officiating. Interment to follow at Transcona Cemetery. Lord, take our mother and grandmother into your eternal loving care and give her the peace and tranquility that she so richly deserved in life. Transcona Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements.
