SYLVIA BOAK On Monday, September 26, 2005 at the Health Sciences Centre, Winnipeg, following a short illness, Sylvia Boak, a longtime resident of Portage la Prairie, widow of the late Lloyd Nicholas Boak passed away at the age of 73 years. Prayers will be held in the Chapel of the Omega Funeral Home, Portage la Prairie on Friday evening, September 30 at 7:30 p.m. Funeral service will be held in the Chapel of the Omega Funeral Home, Portage la Prairie on Saturday, October 1 at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. Fr. Mike Skumeda officiating. Interment will follow in the family plot at Hillside Cemetery. Predeceased by her father Mike in 1989; her mother Katherine in 1964; her husband Lloyd in 1999; two brothers, Adam in 1994 and Johnny Yaworsky in 1988; and one sister Adeline Hubic in 2003. She leaves to mourn and cherish her memory her son William (Barb); and grandsons, Sean, Rick and Todd all of Portage la Prairie; one sister Mary (Metro) Kaminsky of Stenen, SK; sisters-in-law, Esther Elmhirst of Rivers, MB and Pat Boak of Summerland, BC; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and many special friends. Should friends so desire memorial donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Canada, Manitoba Branch, 730 Taylor Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3M 2K8. The family would like to express their appreciation to the special person who donated their kidney to our mother and baba, giving her another 10 years of living to enjoy her family.
