TERRY EDWARD CHIDLOW February 18, 1939 - September 23, 2005 It is with profound sorrow and deep sadness that we must announce the passing of our father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. After a courageous battle with kidney disease and cancer, Terry passed away peacefully at St. Anthony's Hospital, Friday, September 23, 2005, aged 66 years, with his sisters and friends by his side. Terry was born Saturday, February 18, 1939 at Mile 195 on the Hudson Bay Railway and later on following his father, Terry worked for CNR for 36 years. Terry retired in 1991. He was able to enjoy fishing as much as he wanted; gardening; joking over coffee with his friends at the train station and helping his neighbours or friends with blowing snow; tilling their gardens or anything else they needed, Terry was there to help. Left to mourn and cherish his memory are his children, Sylvia (Larry) of Winnipeg, MB, Wendy (Ken) of Regina, SK, Wayne of Kamloops, BC; grandchildren, Tylor, Amanda, Robin, Becky (Gerry); great-grandchildren, Shaylyne, Sadie, Jayden Alex ; sisters, Carol (Nestor) of Saskatoon, SK, Barb (Chico) of Victoria, BC; nephews, John, Brent; and nieces, Joy, Jacky. Terry was predeceased by his daughter, Tara; his parents, Bill and Ann; brother, Jack; and numerous aunts and uncles. Special thank you to the staff of St. Anthony's for the excellent care he received while he was in the hospital. And his sister Carol for the special care and time she spent during the last part of his illness. Prayers and Visitation were held Monday, September 26, 2005, 7:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Hemauer Funeral Home. The Funeral Service was held Tuesday, September 27, 2005, 1:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Hemauer Funeral Home with James Hemauer presiding. Music Minister by Rochelle Rydberg. Memories of Terry were given by Ernie Foster. Active Pallbearers were Wes Neepin, Norman Reid, Bryan Lundie, Ernie Foster, Dennis Overland, Fred Johnson. Honorary Pallbearers were Philip Bachnick, Harry Kowalyk, Angie Shawaga, Alana Libbrecht, Doug Goldstrand, Jessie Watkins, Reggie Dorion. Following the interment prayers at Lakeside Cemetery, a reception and time of fellowship was held at The Royal Canadian Legion Hall. If friends so desire, donations to the Kidney Foundation of Canada, Manitoba Branch, 730 Taylor Ave., Winnipeg, MB, R3M 2K8 or to the Canadian Cancer Society, in care of Box 635, The Pas, MB, R9A 1K7, would be appreciated by Terry's family. Hemauer Funeral Home, The Pas, in care of arrangements. He Only Takes The Best God saw he was getting tired and a cure was not to be, So He put His arms around him and whispered Come with Me . With tear-filled eyes we watched him suffer and fade away. Although we loved him deeply, We could not make him stay. A golden heart stopped beating, hard-working hands put to rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best.

  • This is for Sylvia. I am so sorry for your loss. I lost Danny 8 months ago and so have sort of an idea of your pain. Just remember, your dad's in a better place now. If you have a computer, email me sometime. My email address is spriems@ hotmail.com Maybe we can rehash some old times that we had at KCC in Thompson. Thinking of you.
