Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryKATHERINE WILSON Aged 99 years, 7 months and 15 days, passed away peacefully as she was having an afternoon nap on September 19, 2005 at Riverview Health Centre. She was born Katarina Letkeman in Rosthern, Saskatchewan on February 4, 1906 to Katerina (Gerbrandt) and David Letkeman (both deceased). She was also predeceased by her husband Sidney in 1977. Katherine was a resident of Winnipeg most of her life and for the past 10 years she lived and volunteered at Lions Manor. Prior to her retirement in 1975 she worked at the Women's Pavilion of the Winnipeg General Hospital (now HSC), doing what she loved best - helping others, but above all she loved her children and their children. Kay, as she was known, will be dearly missed by her sons, Bill Cooper and wife Rose of Concord and Harvey Cooper of Redlands, all in California. Kay is also survived by eight grandchildren, Brian Cooper and wife Judy, Diane Shipley and husband Dennis, Debbie Cooper, David Cooper and wife Shaun; Michael Koperski, Craig Cooper, Danny Cooper, John Howorth and wife Tania; ten great-grandchildren, Brad Cooper, Jason Shipley and wife Liz, Anthony Cooper, Nicole Cooper, Wendi Cooper, Katy Cooper, Matthew Cooper, Nicholas Howorth, Dylan Howorth and Ray Lopez; six great-great grandchildren, Michael Shipley, Tyler Shipley, Ashley Shipley, Hailey Lopez, Tori Lopez and Autum Lopez. She also leaves numerous nephews and nieces who have been a great comfort and joy to her over the years. When asked if she had any daughters she said with that wonderful loving smile: No, but I'm glad my sisters did . She made friends easily and every one of them will miss her deeply. The Lions Manor RAP Office will never be quite the same. Special thanks to Suzette, a wonderful nurse on 3-West, Riverview Health Centre, who treated her with great respect and consideration. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service to celebrate her life will be held in Harvey Hall at Lions Manor, 320 Sherbrook Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba on Friday, October 7, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. - reception to follow.
