ELSIE KATHLEEN HANCOCK Peacefully on September 27, 2005, with the loving support of her family and friends, Elsie Kathleen Hancock, beloved wife of the late Reginald Hancock, beloved mother to Noel, Leslie and Roberta, grandma to Bandit. Pre-deceased by brothers Geordie, Bill and Jack McConnell and by sisters, Mazie McMurray and Eileen Roos, as well as by her adored faithful companion Beauty . Elsie is survived by her children, sister Betty Lloyd of Edmonton, extended family members Dorothy and Johnny McNabb, Doug and Lillian Hancock, Bernice (Pinky) McConnell, Irene McConnell and by numerous nieces and nephews. Our mother always told us that she had lived a good life in her 77 years and she faced death with the same strength, courage and grace as she had lived her life. First and foremost a wife and mother, Elsie was employed by the Canadian Red Cross until her retirement. She volunteered at Concordia Hospital for many years after retirement and also was active in supporting the Good Neighbors Seniors organization of East Kildonan. Mom had made many good friends through these associations and maintained those friendships to the end. She will be missed not only by her family but by those friends, particularly Sheila Brisley and her family, whose love, support and assistance has been invaluable right to the end. The family would also like to thank Nurse Shannon of the 4th floor Grace Hospital for her kindness, care and concern. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, October 4 at 11:00 a.m. at Thomson Funeral Home, 669 Broadway. Flowers are gratefully declined but we know that Mom would be honoured by donations in her name to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the Winnipeg Humane Society, both of which she supported throughout her life. THOMSON FUNERAL HOME 669 BROADWAY, 783-7211
