Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWAYNE ALVIN LEACH August 18, 1943 - September 26, 2005 Wayne passed away at his residence on Monday, September 26, 2005. Wayne was predeceased by his father Alvin LaFontaine Leach in 1985; and his mother Bertha Jane Leach in 2001. He is survived by his daughter Sherry (Glenn) Helm; and his sisters, Audrey (Ronald) Johnson and Laurel (Edward) Rector; and niece Willow Rector. Wayne was a person who was a free spirit. He lived his life the way he wanted to. Wayne was a kind, gentle, loving man who made many friends wherever he went, and he cherished his family and friends. Wayne was employed for 30 years by the City of Winnipeg as a transit driver, retiring in 1997 due to health problems. He was a member of the St. James Legion for over 30 years, and he served the Legion in many capacities. Wayne will be fondly remembered and sorely missed by his family and numerous friends. A memorial service to celebrate Wayne's life will be held on Wednesday, October 5 at 2:00 p.m. at Silver Heights United Church, 199 Garrioch Ave., Rev. Don Johnson officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Ernie Siwak, Doug Smith, Dusty Miller, Grant Barron, Pat Moore and Bruce Cherney. In Wayne's memory donations may be made to the Manitoba Heart Stroke Association.
