Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLLOYD STANLEY GARBUTT (Uncle Lloyd) The family of Lloyd Garbutt is sad to announce his passing on September 29, 2005 at Seven Oaks Hospital. He was 85 years old and had been in failing health for some time. Lloyd was predeceased by his mother and father, Charlotte and George; his brother George (Tic) Garbutt and sister-in-law Olivia Garbutt. His niece Joan Mair and nephew Barry Garbutt, their families and a number of cousins in British Columbia survive Uncle Lloyd. Lloyd followed in his father's footsteps and pursued a career in the printing industry working for the Winnipeg Free Press, Universal Printers and Canadian Publishers. Lloyd (Bud) was one of Winnipeg's finest five-pin bowlers. On occasion his family was privileged to bowl with him in spring leagues. In his early years he was keenly interested in airplanes, motorcycles and cars. He loved playing the trumpet and collected the music of the famous big bands. He loved most sports, especially hockey, thoroughbred racing and golf. He also liked to putter around particularly with Uncle James. Lloyd's family extends thanks to all of those who have tended to his needs over the past few years, most recently the staff of the Maples Personal Care Home and the Seven Oaks Hospital. Special thanks to Lucia Haddock and Ken Johnson. A time of visitation and sharing memories with the family will be held from Tuesday, October 4 at 11:30 a.m. at Neil Bardal Inc., 984 Portage Ave., Aubrey Street entrance. NEIL BARDAL INC. 949-2200
