He was predeceased by his wife Anne (Penner) in 2001. He is survived by children, Frieda (Ernesto) Carrillo, Ruth (Claude) O'Hara, John (Ruth) Sawatsky and Edna (Marsden) Edwards, six grandchildren and one great-grandson. Viewing Sunday, October 2 at 7:00 p.m. at Carscadden Funeral Home, Virden. Funeral service on Monday, October 3, 2:00 p.m. at Oak Lake Mennonite Church, Oak Lake.
