JOHN WILLIAM MCDONALD It is with deepest sadness that we announce the passing of John William McDonald on September 29, 2005. John is survived by his loving wife Frances; and children, Andrew (Karen) of White Rock, BC, Paul (Teddi) of Littleton, CO, Philip of Winnipeg and Peter of Winnipeg; grandchildren, Drew, Blake, Nicholas and Julia; sisters, Beth, Diane and Kate; brother-in-law Dr. Philip DeBrincat (Pat); sister-in-law Willa DeBrincat; and numerous nieces and nephews. John was predeceased by his mother Margaret and his father Robert. John was born on June 16, 1936 in Flin Flon, MB and grew up and lived his entire life in Winnipeg. John met the love of his life, Frances, in 1953 and they wed in 1957. Having a keen interest in cars from an early age, John began J.W. McDonald Auto Service in downtown Winnipeg in 1962, which he thereafter successfully owned and operated for some 25 years. From 1987 until his retirement in 1993, John continued to work in the automotive industry in various capacities. Outside of his business life, John spent countless hours volunteering his time and energy for the St. Vital Dolphins Swim Club, St. Amant Society, Versatech Industries and Versatech Charitable Organization. John was a decent, honest and hard-working man who was dedicated to his family and was always genuinely happy to help others. He enjoyed spending quality time at the family cottage at Hillside Beach. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to CancerCare or the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Funeral service will be celebrated by Fr. Wenceslao Rebillaco at Klassen Funeral Home, 1897 Henderson Hwy., Winnipeg, on Tuesday, October 4 at 11:00 a.m. KLASSEN FUNERAL HOME 1897 Henderson - North of McIvor - 338-0331
