James passed away suddenly on August 24, 2005. James leaves his beloved wife Beatrice (Bloomfield); son Ronald; and two daughters, Louise and Karen; two sisters, Winona (Russel) Yeo, Verna Bastiaanssen; brothers, Leonard (Emma) Berry, Don (Anne) Berry, Allen (Lynda) Berry; brothers-in-law, Bert (Barbra) Bloomfield, Theodore (Marion) Jonsson; mother-in-law Irene Wiggett; aunts, uncles, cousins and numerous nephews and nieces. James was predeceased by his parents Vera and Henry Berry; stepfathers Archie Defoort and William Wiggett; uncles, aunts. James attended Cypress River School from 1941 to 1942 and Glencove School from 1942 to 1951. From 1955 to 1959 James went to Winnipeg to work at C.P.R.; from 1974 to 1980, belonged to the R.M. of South Cypress as a councillor. He also belonged to the Glenboro Medical Board, and James took part in the Austins Thresherman reunion for five years. James loved fishing, hunting and travelling and also enjoyed harvesting and seeding time. The service was held August 31 at Wilmor Chapel with Rev. Milo Spooner Craig officiating. Interment followed in Glencove Cemetery. Honour guards were Tony and Peter Bastiaanssen, Richard Jonsson, Randy Yeo, Bryon Berry and Jimmy Berry. Moray Jamieson Funeral Services was in charge of the funeral arrangements. Donations can be made to Cancer, Diabetes, or charity of your choice.
