MARY GROS (nee MOROZ) 1923 - 2005 Peacefully on Friday, September 30, 2005, at the Victoria General Hospital, Mary Gros passed away at the age of 81. Mary was predeceased by her parents Barbara and Jacob; beloved husband Jean Eugene Gros; grandson Cecil Maynard; brothers, William and Joseph; sisters, Nettie Sawatsky and Juliana MacLeod. She leaves behind her daughter Noreen Maynard (Frank); son Leslie; grandchildren Victoria and Robyn Maynard ; brother Harry Moroz (Anne) and many nieces, nephews and friends who will miss her dearly, in particular her niece Arlene Sawatsky. She was born on November 17, 1923 in St. Adolphe , MB. Mary and Jean made their home in St. Vital. Mary made every family occasion a grand event and made everyone feel special. A woman of faith, she was devoted to God and to her Church, Christ the King, where she was actively involved for over fifty years, and a founding member of the parish's Catholic Women's League. For many years she enjoyed working for the Province of Manitoba in the area of Mental Health. Following her retirement she was happiest tending to her garden, and spending time with family, friends and especially her grandchildren. Funeral mass will take place on Wednesday, October 5, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at Christ the King Church, 847 St. Mary's Rd. Interment will follow in Green Acres Cemetery. A special thanks to Dr. K. Boyd and staff at the Victoria Hospital, and also to the tremendous support from the WRHA Home Care staff. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mary's memory to the Christ the King Memorial Fund, in care of Christ the King Church, or the CancerCare Manitoba Foundation, ON109-675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB, R3E 0V9.
