NORAH (NORA) MARGARET ZASTRE (nee TRUMBLA) It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Nora on Saturday, October 1 at her residence at the age of 81. Nora is survived by her loving husband of 52 years Allen, son Roy (Fran) and grandchildren, Brett and Jane. She is mourned by her brother Carl Trumbla (Yvette), sister Sarah Allard and numerous relatives. She was predeceased by her mother Gwendoline and father Elmer. Nora was born in Elie, MB and spent her childhood years on the family farm. She had fond memories of going to Midnight Mass by horse drawn sleigh, family gatherings at harvest time and autumns spent canning vegetables with her aunts. Nora was an avid gardener and had a natural talent for cooking and possessed an elegant style which she shared by entertaining family and friends. Nora and Allen moved to Winnipeg after the birth of their son and later spent many summers vacationing at Twin Beaches with family and friends. Winter vacations in particular were enjoyed in Hawaii, her favourite place in the world. She had numerous interests and enjoyed her retirement years. Nora was especially fond of cats and was blessed with many animal friends during her life. She will never be forgotten. Cremation has taken place and a gathering of family and friends will be held on Thursday, October 6 at 2:00 p.m. at Desjardins Funeral Chapel, 357 Des Meurons St. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 5 Kent Rd., Winnipeg, MB R2L 1X3.
