Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryALEXANDER MANCHULENKO It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing on October 1, 2005 of our father and grandfather Alec Manchulenko beloved husband of Marie, at Bethesda Hospital at the age of 87 years. Alec was born in Morris, MB on September 18, 1918. In 1930 his parents bought a farm in Dufrost where he farmed for most of his life. In 1946 he married Marie Andruchiw and farmed until 1979. They then moved to Marie's family homestead in East Braintree, MB and farmed there until 1993. In 1993 they retired and moved to St-Malo to be closer to the family. He was predeceased by his parents, George and Miranda Manchulenko, three brothers and one sister. He leaves to cherish in memory his wife of 59 years Marie; daughter Gladys (John Goulet); son George (Carol); grandchildren, Ken Goulet, Karen Budey (Robert), Alexander Manchulenko, William Manchulenko; two great-grandchildren, Robyn and Lauren Budey; one sister-in-law and one niece. Grandpa spent all of his life doing what he loved most, farming. During the winter months his time was spent logging in the bush in the East Braintree area. What he was well known for was building lean-to's to every building in the yard, in order to store everything that he never threw away. He was a kind and gentle man and what he looked forward to the most was when the grandchildren came to stay with them during summer holidays and for special occasions. We will miss Grandpa but the memories will be with us forever. The funeral service will be held Thursday, October 6 at 10:00 a.m. at the Assumption of the Virgin Mary Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Dufrost, MB, with the very Rev. Fr. Miron Pozniak and Rev. Fr. Oris Naherniak officiating. Interment to follow at the parish cemetery. Viewing will be held at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, 150 Penfeld Dr., Steinbach on Wednesday, October 5, 7:00 p.m. with prayers at 7:30 p.m. Donations in memory of Alec may be made to Canadian Diabetes Association, 102 - 310 Broadway, Winnipeg, MB R3C 0S6.
