ELIZABETH (ALICE) ROSE KELNER November 19, 1933 - September 30, 2005 It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Elizabeth Kelner on Friday, September 30, 2005. She was predeceased by her parents, William and Margaret Chambers; and the one true love of her life Frank Kelner, who she will now be reunited with. Elizabeth is survived by her cherished daughter Bev (Gord, who was like a son to her) Miller; and treasured grandsons, Jordan, Judge and Jared; sister Olive Toker (Ed); brothers, John Chambers (Eileen), Mike Chambers (Helen), Henry Chambers (Anne), Martin Chambers (Lorraine), Bill Chambers (Helen) and many nieces and nephews. Born in Arborg, MB in 1933, she attended school there ultimately becoming a teacher (which profession she dearly loved) at Strathmillan School. She married Frank in 1958 and three years later on the date of their anniversary gave birth to their only daughter Beverly. At this time Frank and Elizabeth ran a Dairy Queen franchise (1961 to 1966). Elizabeth later returned to teaching, substituting in the Winnipeg School Division No. 1 (one of her favourite schools being Tyndall Park) until she retired in 1995 to babysit her beloved grandson Jared. She adored doing complex puzzles, reading voraciously, going to bingo, travelling and especially being with the family she loved and who loved her. Elizabeth was one of those rare individuals who thought of everyone else before herself and accepted everyone for who they were. We are all better people for just having known her and not a day will go by that she won't be missed. A Celebration of Elizabeth's Life will be held on Thursday, October 6 at 10:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. with Rev. Don McIntyre officiating. Pallbearers will be Jordan Miller, Judge Miller, Randy Toker, Sean Dawson, Dennis Chambers and Ron Chambers. Honorary Pallbearer Lori Dawson. If friends so desire, donations may be made in Elizabeth's memory to CancerCare Manitoba. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
