Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROBERT EDMOND RICHARDS Suddenly on October 1, 2005 at the St. Boniface Hospital. Dad was born on April 14, 1921 in Gilbert Plains, MB. The family eventually relocated to Winnipeg where Dad attended school. During the Second World War Dad was a member of the RCAF and was stationed at Topcliffe, England where he met and married Ina, the love of his life. They were seldom apart for the next 59 years. After the war Dad returned to Canada and attended the University of Manitoba graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture degree. After graduating Dad worked for the Manitoba Government Department of Municipal Affairs for many years. Following retirement Dad and Mom travelled extensively throughout Canada and the United States, eventually settling on Yuma, AZ, where they spent their winters for many enjoyable years. Dad was a longtime member of Khartum Temple Director's Staff, serving as Director for several years. Dad was also a Mason and member of the Fort Osborne Lodge. Dad was predeceased by Mom in 2003. He will be sorrowfully missed by sons, Ian (Ruth) of Burlington ON, John (Bebe) of Fredericton, NB, Brent (Evelynn) of Winnipeg and Lorne (Evelyn) of Winnipeg; as well as his grandchildren, Margaret (John), Matthew, Erica, David, Chris, Terri, Gillian, Colin, Marc; and great-grandchildren, Ruth Ann and Emma Rose; as well as his sister Gwen Southall (Phil) of Winnipeg. Dad will also be missed by many nieces and nephews, especially Wendy Volk (Bill) and Randy Southall (Anita). Dad loved being with his family and was known for his smile and positive attitude. He was a compassionate man and a wonderful example to us all. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 8 at 4:00 p.m. in Thomson Funeral Home, 669 Broadway. The family would like to express their appreciation and thanks to the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service and Emergency Staff at St. Boniface Hospital. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Ducks Unlimited Habitat Fund or the charity of your choice. THOMSON FUNERAL HOME 669 Broadway - 783-7211
