ANNE DUPUIS With great sadness we announce the passing of our precious mother and grandmother, Anne Dupuis, on October 2, 2005 at the Selkirk General Hospital. Mom died peacefully at the age of 78, after battling cancer for a number of months. Mom will be dearly missed by her three children and four grandchildren, Connie, Christine and her husband Curwood Ateah and their daughters, Jaymie and Alexandra and Ray and his wife Marcie and their sons, Jordan and Evan. She will also be sadly missed by her sister Irene Banash and brother Mike Hnatiuk, as well as many dear in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her loving husband William (Bill) in 1994; her parents, Paul and Nettie Hnatiuk; and brothers, Ross and Sam. Our mother was born in Gonor, MB on December 22, 1926, the fourth of five children. She spent her childhood on the family farm and later moved to Toronto for several years as a young woman. In 1953, she married Bill Dupuis and they settled and raised their family in Selkirk, MB, where Mom lived until her passing. In recent years, Mom enjoyed her volunteer activities, bowling and playing Bingo, especially with dear friend and sister-in-law Jean Dupuis and dear friend Stella Robinson. Mom dearly loved her family and was always so proud and supportive of us. We will remember her beautiful smile and caring and generous ways and how she taught us to look for the best in people. She was the centre of all of our family celebrations and our lives will never be the same without her. We would like to express our deep appreciation to everyone who cared for Mom through her illness, including Dr. R. Nason from CancerCare Manitoba and Dr. T. Racette, her family doctor in Selkirk who cared for her until the end with such compassion and determination to keep her as comfortable as possible. Thanks as well to all her nurses and caregivers for their patience and kindness, in particular Jamie, Lorraine and Janine from the Health Sciences Centre, Kathi from CancerCare Manitoba, Elaine from Selkirk Home Care and Laurie, Trudy, Ramona, Eleanor, Michelle, Val and niece Theresa from the Selkirk General Hospital. Prayers will be said Wednesday, October 5 at 7:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk. Funeral mass will be held on Thursday, October 6 at 10:30 a.m. in the Notre Dame Roman Catholic Church, Selkirk with Fr. Boguslaw Wardzinski officiating. Interment to follow in the Parish Cemetery. Her pallbearers will David, Paul, Mark, Terry and Clifford Hnatiuk and Randy Papuschuk. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mom's memory to CancerCare Manitoba or the Selkirk General Hospital would be greatly appreciated. AFTERGLOW I'd like the memory of me to be a happy one. I'd like to leave an afterglow of smiles when life is done. I'd like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways, Of happy times and laughing times and bright and sunny days. I'd like the tears of those who grieve to dry before too long, And cherish those very special memories to which I belong. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.

To Connie, Christine, Raymond and your families, Auntie Anne was such a special person and the memories that you all have of her will help carry you through this difficult time. Whether it is a picture, a phrase or a season, you will have moments that remind you of her and you will know that she is with your Dad, smiling down on you all. With blessings and thoughts of you all, Love, Lori - Posted by: Lori Starodub & John Morris (Family) on: Oct 03, 2005
