MYRA NANETTE PERSONA (nee CHASSIE) It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Myra Persona on Thursday, September 29, 2005 in the Strathmore Hospital at the age of 73 years with her daughter Gail by her side. Myra was born September 3, 1932 in Winnipeg, MB. She spent most of her life in Winnipeg and worked in various companies as a binding labourer. She chose to spend her remaining years living with her daughter Gail and grandchildren, Kevin and Mason in Standard, AB to be close to her family. Like her mother Pearl, Myra had many of the same attributes, her gentleness, generosity, her sense of humour and her love of all children. She was referred to as Grandma by all children close to her. She was predeceased by her husband William Ladislaw Persona, her mother Pearl Chassie, her father Frederick Chassie and brother Hebert Paquin. Those left to mourn are her brothers, Thomas, Gordon and Richard; sisters, June and Celia; children, Gail, April and Garth (Bonnie); grandchildren, Darrell (Danniella and Matthew), Kevin, Mason, Michelle (Steve), Dannielle (George and Katlyn) Bradley, Sarah and Randy; and numerous nieces, nephews; close friends, Todd, Colleen, Dylan and Joshua and longtime friend Laura. Myra's family is thankful for the care given by Dr. Lobay and the gentle attentions shown by the nursing staff at the Strathmore Hospital. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made directly to the Strathmore Hospital or Strathmore Palliative Care Unit (200 Brent Blvd., Strathmore, AB T1P 1J9). In keeping with Myra's wishes, cremation has taken place through Wheatland Funeral Home Ltd. (with special thanks) and a service celebrating her life will be held on Friday, October 21 at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, Winnipeg at 10:00 a.m. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Chapel Lawn Funeral Home Cemetery and Crematorium, Winnipeg, MB (204) 885-9715.
