Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGLADYS MARGARET LIEN Peacefully on Saturday, October 1, 2005, Gladys Margaret Lien passed away at the Fort Garry Care Centre. Gladys was born on February 5, 1924 at Lanigan, SK where she lived until moving with her family to Burr, SK when she was 10 years old. She came to Winnipeg in 1943 to attend Success Business College and on completion of her course, began her long and interesting career as a legal secretary, retiring in 1991. Being an avid sports fan with a special interest in hockey, she and her sister Dorothy were season ticket holders for the duration of the Jets stay in Winnipeg. She was a gentle lady proud of her home and garden from which she derived pleasure and contentment. She will be fondly remembered for her kind thoughtfulness, loyalty and sense of humour by her brother John Lien (Musa), Winnipeg; her sister Marjorie Kew, Kelliher, SK, nieces, nephews. cousins and friends - especially those in her St. Vital neighbourhood where she lived for 50 years prior to her illness in June 2004. She was predeceased by her parents, Halvor (Bud) and Dorothy E. and her sister Dorothy M. Heartfelt thanks to the kind, caring and understanding caregivers at Fort Garry Care Centre which was Gladys' home since August, 2004. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 7 at Thomson Funeral Home, 669 Broadway. Interment will take place in the family plot in Lanigan, SK at a later date.
