Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryIDA KOEHLER (nee MATTHES) Peacefully on Monday, October 3, 2005, Ida passed away at the Concordia Hospital at the age of 90 years. Ida is survived by her son David (Betty); granddaughter Christine (Dwayne); grandson Jamie (Margaret); also sisters, Angie and Ella; and brother Ken. She was predeceased by her husband Bill and daughter Jane. We invite you to come and celebrate Ida's life with us. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, October 7 at 1:00 p.m. at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 708 McCalman Ave. at Grey Street with visitation beginning at 12:00 noon. Cremation will follow with a private family ash interment at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ida's memory to the Lupus Society of Manitoba Inc., 105 - 386 Broadway Ave. Winnipeg, R3C 3R6 or to a charity of your choice. Ida was a loving and hard working spirit who devoted her life to caregiving others. Always present, helping with dinners and spoiling children / grandchildren with her abundant love and kindness. Ida set an example for all with her solid and steady work ethic. Ida's cinnamon buns, warm from the oven, awaiting children when they returned from school are legendary. We are thankful to have known and loved Ida. Her spirit remains with us in her gentleness, her perseverance, and the legacy of many loved children she helped raise in her career. Bless you Ida.
