Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryKAREL (KAJA) FEDERSEL May 24, 1970 - September 27, 2005 With great difficulty and sorrow, the family of Karel Federsel is sadly announcing the sudden and unexpected passing of Karel. He leaves behind his mother (Helena); father (George); sister (Sarah); his nephew (Jessie) and girlfriend Kaew. Karel was born and raised in Winnipeg, and enjoyed a happy and healthy childhood with loving and supportive parents. Karel studied at the University of Manitoba, and earned an Honours Degree in Political Science, which was his passion for the remainder of his short life. He was very athletic and was active in swimming, soccer, hockey, water polo and rugby. His father spent countless hours with him at practices, games and events. Karel was his mother's pride; they shared a special and strong mother and son connection. Karel had the opportunity to spend quality time with his four year old nephew and developed a precious bond with him. His sister is left with wonderful memories of her big brother. He spent the last 10 years of his life travelling in many parts of East Asia, and Europe. He was an individual of great intellect, who was an avid reader of political issues and ideas, history, philosophy and poetry and owned an extensive book collection. Karel was fluent in English, Czech and Thai. Karel always enjoyed good times with his friends and family. He was an easy going fellow and lived life to the fullest. He always recognized the talents of others and expressed his admiration to them. Karel passed away in Bangkok, Thailand, with his girlfriend, Kaew, at his side. The family wants to express our sincerest and heartfelt thank you and our love for Kaew for being at his side and our thoughts are with her in Bangkok, while she mourns his passing. We wish we could be with her at this time, and will continue contact with her as she is considered to be a part of our family. The family has decided not to hold a ceremony for Karel in Canada, as this is an extremely difficult time for us. A ceremony will be held for Karel in Bangkok, arranged by his friends there, the family is supportive of this. We would like to thank Andrew for making all the necessary arrangements. A private burial for Karel was held on Tuesday, October 4 at 10:00 a.m. at Wampum Salem Cemetery. He was buried with the remains of his grandmother, Marie Dostal (January 2, 1910 - October 1, 1990). The family is left to wonder what the meaning is of his senseless death. He was the first child and only son to Helena and George Federsel and his day of birth was the most joyous day they ever experienced. They raised a happy and beautiful blue eyed boy with pride and delight. However, the day of Karel's death is the most tragic event they will ever experience, and one they should have never lived to see. The family wants to extend a special thank you to the medical staff at Reviksi Hospital in Bangkok, Thailand, for their care of Karel, as there is no doubt they did everything possible for him. Also for the compassion and concern the physician expressed to the family. Also, a special thank you to the RCMP in Sprague, for their care and compassion to the family during this difficult time. We would also like to express our gratitude to the Canadian Consul at the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, for her kindness and assistance with arranging transport of Karel back to Canada. And a thank you to Michael at Vita Funeral Home for his time and patience with the family and just listening to us while we expressed our sadness. Also, for his assistance with the arrangements for transport of Karel back home. The family is genuinely touched with the outpouring of support from friends, as we know your thoughts and prayers are with us. Anyone wishing to contact the family may do so at P.O. Box 124, Piney, MB R0A 1K0, Canada. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Karel's memory to the Winnipeg Humane Society. DEAR MOM AND DAD Sorry I didn't get to stay, To laugh and talk and discuss away. To be there right by your side, I'm sorry that I had to die. God sent me down to be with you, To make your loving heart anew, To help you look up and see, God and the angels holding me. Dear Mom and Dad I wish I could stay, Just like I heard you cry and pray, All the angels cried with me, When they told me it was my time to leave. God didn't take me because He's mad, He didn't send me to make you sad, But to give us all a chance to be, A love so precious for you and me. Up here no trouble do I see, And pretty angels sing around me. A world of peace is where I stay, And one day we'll meet here for eternity. Until the day you join me here, I'll love you dearly, dear Mom and Dad. Each breeze you feel and flower you see, Brings love, a hug and a kiss from me.
