JOHN DONALD NICOLSON (October 8, 1922 - October 2, 2005) With heavy hearts and sadness we announce the passing of John Nicolson who passed away peacefully in the Concordia Hospital on Sunday, October 2, 2005 at the age of 82 years. Remaining to cherish John's memory are his dearest friend and companion Terry Lee; his sister Margaret; daughters, Sharon, Barbara, Corrine and Amber; grandchildren, Faye, Courtney, Kalie, Kristin, Reece, Samantha and Nicholas; and niece Bonny. John was born and raised in Saskatoon, SK. He served in the R.C.A.F. during the Second World War. Following his service, he attended the University of Saskatchewan and graduated with a pharmaceutical degree. John began his career as a pharmacist in Saskatoon and in 1956 he and his family moved to Winnipeg, MB where he continued his career as a pharmaceutical representative and as a pharmacist until his retirement at the age of 67. He was a member and past president of the Winnipeg Rotary Club and was a longtime member of the Red River Rangers. Before John's decline in health he loved long road trips with Terry Lee. John also liked socializing and gardening. He will be missed dearly by family and friends. A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 7 at 1:00 p.m. in the Brookside Cemetery, 3001 Notre Dame Ave. For those who wish to attend, please gather at the cemetery entrance gates at 12:45 p.m. John's funeral service will then follow at 3:00 p.m. in John Black Memorial United Church, 898 Henderson Hwy., with Rev. Jim Hatherly Officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations in John's memory may be made to the CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9.
