Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryREVEREND EDWARD WYATT MCCREA On Monday, October 3, 2005 at Deer Lodge Centre, Winnipeg, MB, Rev. Edward Wyatt McCrea, widower of the late Margaret McCrea passed away at the age of 87 years. Funeral service will be held in Westminster United Church, Maryland at Westminster on Saturday, October 8 at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. Robert Campbell and Joan Jarvis officiating. Interment will be held at the Oakville Cemetery, Oakville, MB at 1:30 p.m. Edward was born on June 5, 1918, son of Hiram and Nora McCrea at Saskatoon, SK. The family moved to Brockville, ON where he was raised and received his education. He worked at various jobs and attended University in Toronto, receiving his BA and BD. He was ordained as a United Church Minister in 1962. He served as a minister at Cochrane, ON, Oakville, MB, Woodstock, ON and Cambray, ON, retiring to Winnipeg in 1984. He cared about and kept in contact with many of the people in the communities he had served during his ministry. Even after his retirement, he was active in the church assisting with services when needed. In 1982 he married Margaret McLaughlin of Winnipeg. Edward enjoyed studying and researching family history, Canadian history, art and classical and religious music. He enjoyed reading and had a large collection of various types of books. Predeceased by his parents, his wife Margaret in 1999, one sister Elsie McCrea and one niece Lorraine. He leaves to mourn his passing, several nieces and nephews, Sheryl, Margaret Elaine, Gerald, Thelma, Donald, Ruth and their families.
