MARIE ANNE MOIR Peacefully on Monday, October 3, 2005 at the Concordia Place Care Centre, Marie Anne Moir, widow of Gordon John Moir passed away at the age of 93. On April 5, 1912, Marie was born to John and Sophie Gebhard in Wolseley, SK. As a young girl she moved to Killarney, MB with her parents and siblings. In 1934 she married Gordon and raised her family. Marie and Gordon moved to Winnipeg in 1964 where she resided on Minto Street until May of 2003. Marie is survived by her son Jack (Jayne) Moir of Winnipeg; and daughters, Patricia Joan Royer of Comox, BC, Carol Surgeson of Richmond, BC, Joyce (Blair Jones) Lafreniere of Summerland, BC, six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Marie was predeceased by her parents; husband Gordon; son Teddy; and two sisters, Anne and Nell; and three brothers, Charles, Frank and Adam. The family would like to thank the entire 3rd floor staff at Concordia Place Care Centre for all their kindness and care to Marie over the past years. Cremation has taken place and a family memorial service will be held on Wednesday, October 12, at 11:00 a.m. at Neil Bardal Inc., 984 Portage Ave., Aubrey Street entrance, Fr. Ken Barclay officiating. Interment will take place in the Killarney Cemetery at a later date.
