DIANE LYNNE MELANSON Peacefully on Tuesday, October 4, 2005 at St. Boniface General Hospital, Diane Lynne Melanson, beloved daughter, mother, cousin, friend and confidante at the age of 49 years. Diane is survived by her only daughter Crystal Lee Melanson of Winnipeg, age 22 years, and their pet Waffles. Also surviving is her loving mother Edme Christina Melanson of Winnipeg, age 77 years; aunts Doreen, Cynthia, Joyce, Millie, Vid and Anna; uncles Tom, Robert, Joe, Don, Al and Ron; special cousins; Dale, Elaine, Darren, Veronica, Holly, Aleshia, Terra, Troy, Trevor and Sheri and many other friends, family and co-workers. She will be also sadly missed by special friends, Margaret, Bev, Amanda, Sherry, Denise and Ashley. Diane was born January 8, 1956 in Winnipeg where she resided all her life, going from different parts of the city until she found a place where she could raise her daughter and be close to family. She had an extremely hard work ethic, which led her to her last job as a restaurant supervisor at Zellers. She was a dedicated, loving, giving woman, not just to work, but to her friends, family and everything she did. She was always the one behind family get-togethers and holidays. In a way she was the glue that held up everyone and everything. I don't know anyone else who could do that like Diane could. She was the most amazing person ever and I am so grateful and blessed to have had her for a Mom. She was my best friend, and made so many sacrifices, so I had all the things I ever needed. I never will forget everything she ever did for me. It was an unexpectedly hard, trying year for everyone and I am so proud to say I was there every single step of the way, right up till the last breathing seconds of her journey. The family would like to thank the following; CancerCare Manitoba, Melani Edmonds, Dr. Navaratham, Dr. Kvern, Dr. Cavett, Dr. Wowk, Lindsay Reynolds, co-workers and nurses from Palliative Care, Bev Wright, Amanda Fifi, Margaret Diduck, Denise and Ashley Evans. Services will be held on Tuesday, October 11 at 1:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street with Rev. Don McIntyre officiating. Ash interment to follow in Brookside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Diane's memory to CancerCare Manitoba. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
