Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGILBERT V. JOHNSON Gilbert V. Johnson passed away peacefully at the West Coast General Hospital on October 7, 2005. He was predeceased by his parents, father - Johannes Julius Johnson on July 5, 1971, mother, Gladys Johnson on December 1, 1994, Sister - Lillian Zalinko on September 12, 1984, and brother - Donald Johnson on February 2, 1994. He leaves behind his wife of 43 years Ruth and his daughter Charmaine. He was born in the St. Boniface Hospital in Winnipeg, on September 4, 1937 and moved to the Alberni Valley with his family in 1967 where he was employed by the City of Port Alberni until his retirement in 2002. Cremation will take place and a grave side service will be held in the family plot in the Greenwood Cemetery at a later date. At this time Charmaine and myself would like to thank Dr. Brown and Dr. Vanzyl for their care and to all the nurses at the West Coast General Hospital for their professional care. To RN's Kelly and Diane from the Home and Community care along with all the other RN's for their excellence and support and love to Charmaine and myself - also to all the home support workers for all the care given to Gib when he could no longer look after his own special needs. To the Girls that had to schedule all the times to be here. To Heather and Janette Johnson for giving Charmaine her little get away and support. To Johnny V and Sandy Brown from Hospice for the never ending visits - you both are loved dearly. And as Gib would say I Love You Ben Potter, you made it so much easier for Gib with the scriptures and stories that you have shared with him. To Pastor Tim and all the congregation at the Arrowsmith Baptist Church on Glenside - God Bless you All. To Dennis and Darlus Jonsson and all the staff at Dennis Johnson Motor Products for all your support to Charmaine when she needed it so much. And to Gary and Barb Connauton, MacDermott's Insurance Agency and all the staff for you support. To my friend Jennifer Allison for the daily calls and support. Also to Julia, Olive Richardson and Mike McKamey - what can I say - you know. Last but not least to all my Family, Eileen and Rudy Fisler, Nanoose Bay, BC, Ted and Vi Kolbuck, Winnipeg, William and Pat Kolbuck, Winnipeg, and their families - thanks for calls of support to help us along. And to all that we have not mentioned, please forgive us, We will remember as time goes on. Only God knows how much you all have helped, as we could have never been able to do this on our own - Thank you and God Bless you All - Ruth and Charmaine.
