OTTO PLETT 1934 - 2005 Peacefully on Wednesday, October 5, 2005, Otto Plett of Arborg passed away. He is survived by his beloved wife Frieda, who loved and cared for him for over 49 years of married life and walked with him through dad's recent heroic struggle with Diabetes. Dad had a happy childhood in the Blumenort MB area with his parents Cornielius R. and Mary Plett, seven brothers and two sisters. In 1950 most of the family moved to Mexico. This is where dad met and married mom and where they started their family and dad taught in several schools. In 1965 dad and mom moved to the Arborg area where dad found ways to provide for his family in various ways including Johnson's farm and store, farming hogs and chickens at home and more recently operating a greenhouse. The pride and joy of dad's life was his family. Dad lived for times of visiting, eating, working, playing and singing with mom the children and grandchildren! Dad's treasure chest included: Henry and Vivian Plett, Arborg, (Henry passed away in 2003) Alvin and Susan Plett, Arborg Annie and Ted Friesen, Texas Gerry and Anne Plett, Arborg Alvina and Tim Reimer, Arborg Emily and John Loewen, Fisher Branch (Daughter Vangie passed away in 1994) Elaine and Rick Reimer, Arborg Conrad and Rhonda Plett, Alberta Laurie and Bob Kornelsen, Oklahoma and their dearly loved families. Dad loved and served his Savior Jesus Christ throughout his adult life. We are assured that he is now resting from his labors with Jesus and many loved ones. We wish to express thanks to the home care workers, hospital staff and many friends who have shown care and served well in these intense days and months. Special thanks to the Saint Boniface Hospital Dialysis Unit staff!
