Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLEONARD ZIELINSKI It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Leonard Zielinski on Friday, October 7, 2005 at 12:05 a.m. He died peacefully after a fierce but brief battle with cancer at Seven Oaks General Hospital. Leonard was born in Daniluwka, Province of Wolyn on May 27, 1927. He was separated from his parents as a child during The Second World War, to be reunited with them in Canada in 1972. A retired army officer, worked as an optics inspector in the private sector in his native Poland. In Canada, he was employed as an optician at Dr. Finkleman's office where he worked until retirement. Predeceased by his wife Sabina in 1997. Leonard will be remembered for his sense of responsibility, sense of humour, love of animals and nature, commitment to his family and remarkable ability to fix things. He will be greatly missed by his daughters Christine Zielinska (granddaughters Colleen and Katherine), Alice Fokeer (grandson Jonathan), Anna Mohit (son-in-law Shyam, grandchildren Vidya and Shaileena), his sister Alina Baranowska, his niece and numerous nephews, their spouses and children. Leonard drew his strength from his faith in a loving God and accepted his illness with courage and peace. His daughters extend their thanks to family, friends, Dr. Finlayson and staff of Seven Oaks Hospital for their dedication and caring. Prayers will be said on Thursday, October 13 at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, October 14 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Ghost Roman Catholic Church, 341 Selkirk Ave. Interment to follow in Holy Ghost Cemetery. Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations may be made in Leonard's memory to the Canadian Cancer Society. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
