BERT WIEBE With saddened hearts, we announce the passing of our Dad (Grampa) on the day of his birthday, October 8, 2005 at his residence, with his family by his side . True to his strong spirit Dad faced illness with bravery and true dignity. He was born in Winkler, MB on October 8, 1937 to Cornelius and Elizabeth Wiebe. Bert will be missed the most by his loving family, daughter Debbie (Edward) Rubashewsky; sons, Garry (Cindy) and Jeff; grandchildren, Garry Jr., Clayton, Miranda, Amanda and Melissa. He is also survived by the mother of his children, Gloria; sisters-in-law Patsy and Gina; good friends, Louise Embury and George and Joyce Hartwig; his sister Esther (Bill); brothers, Ben (Ruth) and Dave (Myrtle); 4 step-sisters and brothers; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many longtime friends. He was predeceased by 2 brothers, one sister and 14 step-sisters and brothers. Dad worked hard all his life, starting with working at the family farm. At times he would have more than one job at a time. He got involved in several businesses and was very determined to satisfy everyone. He retired in October 2004, selling Bert's Portable Restroom Rentals. Memorial prayers will be held on Wednesday, October 12 at 6:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, October 13 at 2:00 p.m. in the St. Andrews on the Red Anglican Church, St. Andrews, MB. Interment will follow in the Parish Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donation's in Bert's memory can be made to CancerCare MB, Rm 1160-675 McDermot Ave., Wpg, MB. R3E 0V9. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Fuchs, staff at the Selkirk General Hospital (Palliative Care Unit), his homecare workers and to all that came to visit dad.
