EDWARD PETER ZAHARI March 13, 1933 - October 8, 2005 Peacefully, on Saturday, October 8, 2005, Ed Zahari passed away at the Victoria Hospital at the age of 72 years. Edward was born in Thunder Bay and came to Winnipeg in 1949. It was here that he began work for CN Telecommunications and remained there for 39 years. Edward never missed a day of work and retired in 1988 at the age of 55. It was during his retirement that he drove a bus for Kings Transport and Vital Transit which he thoroughly enjoyed. Edward is survived by his wife Shirley Zahari with whom he just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Edward and Shirley were blessed with six children. He was predeceased by his son Danny (Janet) and is survived by Mike and wife Elizabeth (Warren and Tristan), Lynn and husband Brent (Danielle, Joshua, Breanne), Joanne and husband Rick (Sarah, Matthew, Timothy), Paddy and wife Stephanie (Brett, Dylan, Madison, Nicholas), and Georgina and husband Rick (Samantha, Devin). Funeral services will be held at St. Thomas More Chapel, 66 Birchdale Ave. in Norwood on Thursday, October 13 at 1:00 p.m. The service will terminate at the chapel.
