ROBERT (BERT) LYTLE
Date of Passing: Oct 09, 2005
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROBERT (BERT) LYTLE Peacefully on October 9, 2005, Robert (Bert) Lytle passed away at the Victoria General Hospital at the age of 94. He is survived by his loving wife Edith; his sister Audrey Phillips, and is fondly remembered by his extended family and friends. Bert was a wonderful husband to Edith and son-in-law to the late Anne Shelley. Nowhere was there a kinder, gentler soul so devoted to those around him. Bert was raised on a farm near Roland, MB. His love of farming and the rural way of life always stayed close to his heart. He worked for McCabe Grain Company and the United Grain Growers, managing the Fort Whyte grain elevator for numerous years. During his retirement living in south Winnipeg, Bert enjoyed many activities including curling, golfing, gardening and frequent trips to the farm at Swan River. He and Edith enjoyed many adventures during their travels throughout Canada, the United States and England. Our sincerest appreciation to Dr. Karen Boyd for her years of devoted care. We would like to express our thanks to Dr. Cavers and the wonderful staff on the fifth floor as well as the former third floor Rehab unit at the Victoria General Hospital. We would also like to acknowledge the staff at the Fort Garry Care Centre. Funeral service will be held on Friday, October 14, 2005 at 1:30 p.m. at Thomson In the Park Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bert's memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
